Building a swimming pool involves a great effort and investment that deserves our full attention, since we will enjoy it (or suffer from it) for many, many years… For this reason, it is necessary to take care of its construction and to choose the most technically appropriate materials, adapted also to our taste. Regarding the coating and, more specifically, the mosaic, there is a general fear that it will fall off. But where does this fear come from and what is it due to?
For a correct installation of any swimming pool coating, the free surface on the back of the product must be, at least, of 70%, to ensure the necessary contact with the glue. Unfortunately, even today, we find panels mounted on mesh supports, which is unsuitable for application in swimming pools. This support leaves a very small free surface and prevents the coating from adhering to the wall, which is the reason why the tiles come off over time.
In addition, it is essential to choose the correct adhesive. Nowadays, the market offers the right products for each application and condition (chlorinated water, saline chlorination…).
